Description: Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) is among the leading universities in provision of quality knowledge in agriculture and allied sciences in Africa. It was established by the Parliament Act no 6 on 1st July 1984, before then it was a faculty under the University of Dar es Salaam. The mission of SUA is to promote development through training, research and delivery of services. To realize its mission, SUA focuses on competence based curriculum of which pedagogical approaches inclined toward student-cantered learning, offering more time on practical learning. According to SUA Charter (2007), as revised from time to time, SUA is mandated to advance knowledge, wisdom and understanding through teaching, research, and outreach services (including extension work and consultancy).
