Description: The main task of the Soča Valley Development Centre (Posoški razvojni center) is to facilitate development in the Upper Posočje region (NW of Slovenia), most notably in the areas of business, human resources, environmental and spatial planning and rural development. The Centre takes part in national and international development projects (as project partner or as lead partner).
As a leading Regional Development Institution for Goriška region (NUTS3), the Soča Valley Development Centre aims to bring new ideas, knowledge and opportunities to the Upper Posočje region as well as to the broader region. Alongside its partners the Soča Valley Development Centre helps creating an environment, which is not only a pleasure to live in, but which promotes work and innovation as well.
The most relevant for the content of project Highlands.3 is the department of environment, spatial planning and rural development. Its focus is on sustainable development projects such as mobility, construction, climate change, water management, regional food supply chain, etc. The Centre acts as an official Info point of the Alpine convention in Slovenia and is member of Euromontana. It is also the manager of Local action group (LAG) Dolina Soče.
The Centre, located in Tolmin, has 25 employees.
