Abstract
In this article we analyze following the contributions of political historiography on the subject, the characteristics, causes and effects of the scandal that developed in Entre Ríos as a result of
the requests for impeachment against governor Salvador Maciá (1895-1899) and vice-governor Francisco Gigena (1895-1896) before the provincial legislature. On the other hand, we ask
ourselves about the meanings that the judicial process against Gigena acquired within the two competing sectors of local autonomism represented by these political leaders. The research is
based on a wide range of documents, including national and local newspapers and periodicals, as well as legislative and judicial sources.This documentary and/or bibliographic systematization generated a database that will allow the elaboration of heritage policies for historical-cultural assets that allude to socioeconomic activities and, in this way, promote tourism proposals in the Natural Protected Areas of the province.
